TAL Pattern No. 301

The Almost Long trousers can take on different looks depending on the fabric choice - from sophisticated office style to comfortable loungewear.

The trousers have a relaxed fit, sit low on the waist, and have a dropped crotch. The legs taper down to the ankles, and both the waistband and leg openings have elastic. Pockets are in the side seams.

The trousers in the picture are paired with a Cuff top and a Wrap jacket from TAL.

The model is 170 cm tall and wears size S.

Different fabric choices can completely change the overall look, giving the trousers everything from a sophisticated feel to a soft and relaxed style. You can omit the elastic cuffs at the bottom of the legs and hem the opening instead to create a simpler and more classic version.

The trousers have a relaxed fit and sit low on the waist, so it is important to use your (lower) waist measurement and hip measurement when choosing a size. Further instructions can be found here.

If you want to adjust the waist width, you can use more or less elastic in the waistband. However, remember that the waist needs to be wide enough to comfortably put on the trousers over your hips.

It is easy to shorten or lengthen the pattern; make the alteration at knee height.

Recommended fabric is medium to heavy weight fabric such as denim, cotton twill, or light canvas.

You will also need: Thread in the same color, 5 cm wide elastic, and interfacing.
